Caring for Your Jewelry
I do my best to make jewelry that lasts a long time. Taking steps to care for your items will extend its life.
Store your handmade jewelry in a cool, dry place, away from humidity. Remove before sleeping, showering or swimming.
To prevent damage, do not pack your jewelry in a purse or bag without first placing it into a travel jewelry box. While polymer clay is flexible, try not to bend it. It is quite durable, but not indestructible.
Clean the metal earring posts by wiping them clean with a soft cloth. Sometimes you may see your earring posts or wires color “changing.” This is likely due to oxidation and most of the time can be cleaned by wiping with a soft cloth. Silver jewelry may need a special silver jewelry cleanser. You can disinfect them with rubbing alcohol. You can clean the clay piece with mild soap and a damp cloth.
